What Is a Legacy Photography Session?

As a Brigham City family photographer and grandmother, I wanted to capture beautiful moments and freeze time and memories for generations to come.
One day, the toys will be put away.
The little hand that always reached for Grandma’s will grow up.
The familiar laugh around the campfire will become a memory.
The stories Grandpa tells over and over again won’t be told forever.
We all know this is true—but we rarely stop long enough to preserve it.
That is exactly why I created Legacy Photography Sessions.
We are so lucky to live and play throughout Box Elder County and Cache Valley
There are many places to capture these beautiful memories
Legacy Photography Is About More Than Pictures

A Legacy Session is different from most family sessions
It’s about documenting relationships.
It’s about preserving the way Grandma brushes hair behind a granddaughter’s ear
The way Grandpa teaches his grandson how to cast a fishing pole.
The hugs that happen naturally.
The conversations around the dinner table.
The laughter that fills a family cabin.
Making pizza with grandpa.
These are the moments that become priceless.
Years from now, your children won’t simply remember what everyone looked like.
They’ll remember how it felt to be together.
Every Legacy Photography Session is customized to your family's story and traditions. Learn more about my Legacy Photography Sessions to see how we plan an experience that's meaningful for your family.
What Happens During a Legacy Photography Session?

Rather than rushing through a list of poses, we slow down.
I guide your family through experiences that create genuine connection.
Depending on your family, your session may include:
Walking together through your favorite place
Reading stories to grandchildren
Baking Grandpa's famous recipe
Fishing at the family cabin
Camping together
Looking through old photographs
Sharing family traditions
Laughing around the campfire
Holding hands while watching the sunset
As these moments naturally unfold, I quietly document them.
Some of the most meaningful photographs happen when no one realizes they’re being photographed.
Why Include Grandparents?

Grandparents are often the heart of a family.
Their stories, wisdom, traditions, and unconditional love shape generations.
Sadly, many families realize too late that they have hundreds of photos of vacations, birthdays, and sporting events—but very few meaningful photographs with Grandma or Grandpa.
A Legacy Photography Session intentionally celebrates those relationships before they become memories.
These photographs become treasures not only for you, but for your children and grandchildren.
Your Family Story Matters

Every family has traditions worth remembering.
Maybe it’s your annual camping trip.
Maybe it’s gathering at the lake every summer.
Maybe it’s Sunday dinners.
Maybe it’s baking Christmas cookies together.
Or maybe it’s simply sitting on Grandma’s porch while everyone visits.
These ordinary moments become extraordinary with time.
Legacy photography preserves the little details that our hearts never want to forget.
Many of my Northern Utah legacy photography sessions take place in grandmas home or out on a walk, or just playing in the front yard.
What Makes My Legacy Sessions Different?
Before your session, I spend time getting to know your family.
I ask about your traditions.
Your memories.
The stories your grandchildren should know.
The people who have shaped your family.
Those conversations help me create photographs that are deeply personal—not generic.
Your gallery becomes more than beautiful portraits.
It becomes the visual history of your family.
If you're ready to preserve your family's story, I'd love to help. Visit my Legacy Sessions page to learn more about the experience, pricing, and how to book your session.
Someday These Photos Will Mean Everything

One day, these photographs won’t just remind you what everyone looked like.
They’ll remind your children what love looked like.
What family looked like.
What home felt like.
That is the true purpose of a Legacy Photography Session.
Because memories fade.
Photographs help them live on.
